Goodyear Aircraft Facility Welcomes First Class of Aspiring Pilots Monday
PHOENIX – A new aviation training center in the West Valley will host its first class of aspiring pilots on Monday, the Arizona Commerce Authority said.
United Aviate Academy, which is a subsidiary of United Airlines, is a 340,000 square foot facility at Phoenix Goodyear Airport that is expected to provide resources, equipment and accommodations for aspiring pilots, said the ACA in a press release. Press release.
“I am delighted that United Airlines has chosen Goodyear to expand its pilot training program, United Aviate Academy,” Goodyear Mayor Georgia Lord said in the statement.
“Phoenix Goodyear Airport has a long tradition of excellence in aviation training, and we are delighted to see United continue this legacy.”
She added that the announcement and expansion plans will continue to support employment in the aviation industry in the growing community.
The facility represents an investment of more than $ 10 million and the creation of hundreds of jobs, the statement said.
It is currently home to several companies, including Lux Air Jet Centers and an aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul company.
